BIOGRAPHY
Brittany Fitz, a Toronto-based choreographer, instructor, and artist, has over a decade of experience in the arts. She began her career as a competitive dancer and later attended The Royal Winnipeg Ballet's Professional Division. Her passion for contemporary dance was ignited when she performed in William Forsythe's The Second Detail. After five years of study, Brittany graduated from The Royal Winnipeg Ballet and continued her studies at The Conteur Academy's two-year contemporary program. She participated in the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble's Movement Invention Project, working alongside international artists like Sidra Bell, Alexandra Wells, Peter Chu, and Shannon Gillen.
Brittany was invited to perform at The American Dance Festival in California and North Carolina, where she was mentored by Gerri Houlihan, T-Lang, Pilobolus, Gregory Maqoma, and Anna Sperber. Her versatile training shaped her as both a dancer and a person, instilling a deep love and respect for the art of dance. Brittany's artistic pieces have been showcased in various festivals and performances across North America, receiving numerous choreography, creativity, and entertainment awards at both local and international competitions. Her unique choreographic style combines athleticism, emotional depth, and a strong technical foundation. Currently, Brittany serves as an associate artistic director, choreographer, and instructor, encouraging dancers to expand their technical foundation while fostering individual artistry. Brittany aims to inspire a new generation of dancers to pursue their dreams and find individuality in the art of dance.
